FROM A FEUDAL FARM TO MODERN TIMES
As can be seen from its history, San Leonino was founded on an independent and self-sufficient feudal farm.
It produced internally everything that the community living inside needed.
Through the years, this aspect of the independent farm has continued up to modern times, so much so that for the Bertani Domains group it is a small niche winery, where its limited production of wines are created with artisan care and attention.
THE PRODUCTION PHILOSOPHY
The cornerstones of the production philosophy are the grape variety and the territory, which are used to create austerity and elegance and to recall the most authentic tradition of Chianti Classico.
Four monovarietal Sangiovese wines make up our range: the Chianti Classico Al Limite, the Chianti Classico Riserva Monsenese, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Salivolpe and the Governo all’Uso Toscano di San Leonino.
Artisanship and research enhance this noble variety in order to produce authentic wines that are inextricably linked to this land and its history.
With the value of tradition, we wanted to recover a skilful, interesting and ancient technique that is typical of this territory, Governo all’Uso Toscano. The use of just Sangiovese aims to highlight the value of these soils (mostly alberese) to create wines with a fresh and classic style.
